| Halo Wars Demo Review. | | Finally, the moment many gamers have been waiting for! Halo the way it was meant to be played- as a real-time strategy game. On Thursday we got a taste of what's to come on March 3 with the game's demo, which can be found on the Xbox Live Marketplace. For those of you who have not played the demo yet, I'll start with a quick overview of it.The demo comes with two Campaign missions as well as a tutorial mission to learn the simple and well-mapped controls. The missions are set in the final game's setting, the human colony Harvest twenty years before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. These two particular missions are reminiscent, if not completely based off of, the trailer for the game released back in '08. The normal cutscenes for the Campaign are as visually stunning as that trailer.The demo also comes with the game's Skirmish mode, pitting th player against an AI. The player can pick from the two major faction in the Halo franchise, the UNSC or Covenant. Under map selection option when setting up the game can be found a complete list of multiplayer maps which include an incarnation of the fan favorite Blood Gulch. However, only one map is selectable. | What is your favourite map in Halo PC and Halo Custom Edition? | | What is your favourite map in Halo PC and Halo Custom Edition? My favourite one is the original Blood Gulch because it is in a open space like a real battle. The next one is hugeass. This map has unusuall Transport System. Like that spider thing and those robots. The next one is Extinction. This map also has different planes. I also like battle creek because its small. It has light weapons like pistol. It dosent have any transport system becaue its small. I hate Danger Canyon. Its the crappest map there. Its not very good. Its path its just like an arc. The final one is Side winter. | What do you guys think about Halo 3: Recon (now renamed to Halo 3: ODST) | | This game takes place DURING the events of Halo 2.. At the time right after the Masterchief leaves Earth (following the covenant that made a slipspace jump while too close to Mombassa).
It uses the Halo 3 Engine, and includes multiplayer maps that it can share with Halo 3.Personally, I think it looks really good. There's tons more info on Bungie.net if you wanted to learn more about it.My only concern is that the game may feel different in-terms of not being a spartan, and therefore being able to jump that high, and stuff like that. Also there's likely no duel wielding, but there IS a modified Battlerifle that the ODST uses.What do you guys think about it though? | |
