What Others are Saying About macbook:| I just bought a Macbook | | As a former PC user, the switch was quite difficult. I am still getting used to not using ctrl+c to copy, but instead using apple+c. Other than those few things, I really feel this is a far superior computer. It is very simple, which I like, and I don't have to worry as much about getting viruses.
Are there any other changes that I will come to find out about a MAC? Please keep in mind I have only had this machine for 3 days, so I'm still learning the ropes. | |
| | Macbook air | | The Macbook air is a designing feat, being the world's thinnest laptop ever. Measuring in at about .90 of an inch, the Macbook air can't have the power of a desktop, or even a good laptop, right? If you travel a ton, and don't mind losing your laptop in a small stack of papers, the macbook air might seem like a possibility to consider, but if you don't mind the already thin Macbook or Macbook pro, go for the Macbook or Macbook pro.Buying a Macbook air means forfeiting many features, including a major step back in processing power, a step down in hard drive space, A hard to replace battery, and a CD slot! Having to plug in a large external disc drive sort of loses the whole "Super portable" effect. The processing power is a mere 1.6 - 1.8 Ghz, the hard drive a small 64 - 80 GB (depending onn which processing power you choose, the smaller processing power for the bigger hard drive), and the CD slot is external, costs an extra $99 AND is not as thin as the notebook. The Powerbook goes from 2.4 to 2.6 Ghz of processing power, and up to a 300 GB hard drive. The macbook has 2.1 to 2.4 Ghz of power, way better, a whole 0.8 Ghz of power bonus on average.Sure, the macbook air can... | |
| | CON(ned)TEST in Wixawin- win MacBook doh! | | I just happened to click on this web link, signed-up, hopefully win to replace my Macbook. They ask for my mobile phone numbers then they sent SMS to confirm. Voila! I will have the chance to win it! I got pretty excited wiggling my toes and happily whistling. Until I got another SMS message saying something like "Welcome, congratz your on your way to winning blah blah, that they will be sending 4 questions soon, each cost $2 bucks. I said "%$*#^*@#WHATdaHeck!" Anyways, to make long story short, I cancelled it right away! Aahh, just another trick learned from people out there who try to earn quick bucks from noob like me. | |

| | The Apple Macbook Air how does it compare | | I am saving for a laptop, but have no idea whether to get a Macbook Pro or the Macbook Air. I want one with lots of power yet portable, I am a writer but my novel happens on a far off world and I need it to do a graphic program as well. So are there any experts that would give me an idea? I would also like a wide screen as well, that is before I have enough money to order it when it comes in our store. | |

| | | Autocad on Macbook | | I love using my macbook but i just found out that Autocad software doesn't run on macbook. I need Cad for my work, now i'm thinking should I buy a windows laptop so I can use Autocad or study another cad software that runs on mac. A lot of people mentioned Archicad which runs on macbook but I don't know how it works, whether it's somewhat similar to Autocad. I hope Autodesk would come up with something for mac, bec. it would be difficult to switch software now. | |
