What Others are Saying About Monster Movies:
Who else likes cheesy monster movies and chill on the couch?
Am I the only one who enjoys cheaply made scary movies and eating junk food?
Cloverfield...is it real?? or fake??? what is the next monster movie??
geez, i watch cloverfield, my daughter ask me the question..."daddy, is it real"??because i'm scared.." i just told her no, daddy never heard the legend (because daddy is tha big fan of godzilla..heheheh)..if it's fake what is the purpose of the movie??? and what do you think the next monster movie base on myth oe even real event??
Cloverfield... anyone else get nauseous?
We saw this tonight and boy I don't know how I made it through. Don't get me wrong, the movie was great!! but the camera movement was supposed to be a home movie and it was really shaky and moving all the time. I felt like they could have at least set the camera down or still once in awhile. There were a few parts where they were just sitting there chatting yet the camera still would shake around.Anyone else have the same problems? And if you haven't seen the movie, don't expect me to tell you what it's about - I hate people who spoil movies!!
Classic Sci-Fi Movies, Monster Movie Matinee, and the like...
My boyfriend has spent the entire day watching what he claims are "classic" sci-fi movies. I am all for sci-fi, but apparently my definition of classic (e.g. the original Planet of the Apes) and his definition are not the same. So far today, he has watched The Day The Earth Stood Still, Damnation Alley, and The Lost World (1960). He is really hoping Island of Terror will be aired soon, because he just can't wait for me to see the not-so-special effects with the spaghetti that pours out of the monster. So what about you? Do you have some viewing recommendations you would like to add to his "classic" list?
What is the best animated movie for you?
For me its monsters inc and robots, i really enjoyed watching those movies and it kinda made me feel good inside. I also like some anime films such as ghost in the shell and the Final Fantasy saga, very well done and they have a very nice story line.
Do you think Kraken will make a perfect crispy Calamari rings?
Kraken is the most famous monster in Scandinavian Mythology, It was part of the legends in Norway,Iceland and maybe Denmark. What is kraken? Kraken is a ginarmous Squid, Yup a Giant giant squid who was so strong that he can kill a whale or sink a ship. It was feared by some sailors for thousands of years. Kraken's Legend has been a part of some Epic, horror and monster movies. Instead of getting scared of this infamous Giant squid, I was kinda thinking, Is kraken edible. Just imagine crispy deep fried Calamari that can feed a whole town. Kraken could be very delicious, I like eating squid when its crispy.
Soccer ball sized..!!
EYES! Wow! I find this truly amazing! What a wonderous planet we live on. So many things left to discover! I saw this and thought about those monster movies from the 40s and 50s. They were not too far off the mark. A rare, colossal squid weighs 1,100 pounds and has eyes that measure 11 inches across.Scientists studying the carcass of what they call the heaviest squid ever found have discovered it has eyes as big as soccer balls -- reportedly the largest in the world. And they think there may still be squid of this size or larger in existance!http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/science/04/30/colossal.squid/index.html see video
What is your favorite classic Japanese monster movie?
I loved as a kid (and still like them, occasionally) what I call the classic Japanese monster movies. What are your favorites? The original Godzilla(with Raymond Burr)? Mothra? Gammera? Ghidra the three headed monster? I have to say that the original Godzilla is still my favorite.
Who is Your Favorite Horror Movie Host
It's Friday night. Many years ago for me, I used to watch horror movies on Friday nights and weekends. It started in the middle sixties when, while in grade school, a friend named Ronnie hipped me to a show that came on every Friday night. After coming home from the high school football games, I'd watch Shock Theater with its host Ghoulardi. He showed monster movies. At first, he was scary with special effects. Then I started noticing that he was funny. I first saw the movie King Kong on his show. During the show Ghoulardi would use special effects to make him appear like he was in the movie. I remember the scene where the ship's crew was running through the forest searching for King Kong and Fay Wray. All of a sudden Ghoulardi got on the screen, ran to one end, and said, "She's over here," then ran to the other end and said, "no, she's over here." He was quite a character who blew up things, made fun of a local commentator, and played cool jazz music. He also played the song Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow while showing an old toothless man chewing something. As I got older, I enjoyed many other television hosts. I faintly remember seeing Vampira. I've also seen the Ghoul, Elvira of Movie...
Women do you like horror movies?
